Naomi dreams of building a life beyond her father’s record shop and finding her place in the emerging world of television. But as opportunity begins calling her forward, so does the past.

Then Palmer walks into the record shop carrying a horn—and a sound that changes the atmosphere around her.

What begins with music opens into something much larger: buried family histories, forbidden names, racial realities, generational silence, personal ambition, and a love that refuses to exist neatly in either darkness or light.
